Instrumentals need to invariably build up to a solo, or a dynamic climax, and I was slightly disappointed that there was nothing like that in the changes. I just kept waiting for a melody to guide the music but nope. Also while your guitar tone was totally bitchin' the synthesized drums are very obvious when you blast the double bass pedal without changing the note velocities to simulate performance. But I mean if this had lyrics and a real drummer it would be a tight ass song man.

Xenogenocide responds:

I'm sorry there wasn't a solo. :(

The buildup was paced pretty well, but no matter how you slice it the digital guitar midi that comes with audio editing programs is shitty.

ElectroGorrilaBear responds:

The electric guitar in a alot of ways was purposeful , and instead of trying too hard to get it to sound good i rather went with the opposite of completely processing them to a point of being their own sound with elements of guitar :P rather then the other way round , however yes if going for great guitar noises it can be difficult even with correct midi notation.Thank you for the review *OH! OH! AH AH!*

It's very pretty, but melodically I feel it could've gone into something more dynamic.

SMJ responds:

Seems to be the general opinion of the piece. Within context the next track builds up more. But I agree it maybe could have done with a bit more dynamics within the track. Thanks for the feedback!

This is dope as fuck.

putzpie responds:

Hell yeah man thanks

Good playing but you're description is a list of excuses as to why you didn't just tune you're guitar.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

It's that situation where if I tune it so it sounds good down below, it would off up top.

My acoustic is like that too.

I was gonna have my friend at some shop take a look at both, but he was out of town the past week.

I know, more excuses right?

I should probably edit the description and have it just say 'lol I'm lazy, here you go' but that seemed kinda snarky.

I'd buy one of those intonation neck-bender things but I'm afraid I'd break my guitar or fuck it up worse.

What can I say, man? I'm neurotic. The guitar's the least of my problems. Heehee

What the fuck there's no melodic lead into anything until like the last 5 seconds. You can't just say "THIS IS REALLY STUPID!" as a scapegoat for posting a shitty song. This literally sounds like an explosion compounded onto a diminished chord, Jesus.

3qu4n0x responds:

Honestly, I don't care... And it was meant to sound "like and explosion compounded onto a diminished chord"... I made this for fun to irritate people since I still have no idea how to use FL Studio 12... So if you don't like me making things for fun, then kindly take your shit somewhere else...

Reminds me of Dark Cloud for some reason, fucking awesome.

spikel responds:

Hey thanks dude :D

Rad piano but the intensity of the playing really shows the lack of the drums, I feel like there should be some sort of melodic bass line as well.

egaSyeliR responds:

there was, of course, because this was originally in mo1d, and there was separate instruments. It had a spacey synth bass instead of the harmony part of the piano :/ aaaannndd of course MIDI has no drum thingy, even with mo1d

As an instrumental to keep entertaining someone it needs to have some lead instrument drawing focus where vocals would be or else non musicians get bored fast. If this had lyrics or like a Steve Vai-esque lead over top of the middle sections it'd be dope as shit.

Throughdarkness responds:

Thank you, and I definitely agree. I have all the intent to eventually have vocals on this track. I am however not a good vocalist. I am currently writing lyrics in hopes to stumble across someone with some talent. I guess I could write some leads for those parts too, but really, I'm not a phenomenal guitarist and would rather not ruin it. I just cannot execute my idea of great leads unfortunately.

Pretty rad melodically, it just felt like it was building up to something but just never got there. I could see this in a soundtrack but as a standalone song it needs some sort of dynamic climax.

Intrapath responds:

I hear ya, I definitely see what you mean. Thanks for leaving a review! :)

Nah.
